Our next meeting has been brought forward a little this month, so be prepared for Sun.3rd March at Wellow as usual

We will be beginning to work on our pressed felt dolls. Looking forward to seeing everyone then.

The February meeting kept us all busy working through Junes little trinket box, showing us how to make the little japanese lady motive on the top. This is pre run as June is offering this workshop at the GDS Convention in Bristol in September.

 

 

 

Sunday 13th January was the start of the the year for the Southern Belles with the AGM. It was time for a change of officers, many Thanks must go to our outgoing chair and secretary for all their hard work, it is greatly appreciated and a warm welcome to our newly appointed officers.

 Maureen showed us these delightful cushions she was making from a kit designed for children

June showed us the ponch that her Mum crocheted for her when she was expecting her son, he's no 40!

And as it is our 20th birthday year we plan to have lots of fun and celebrations!

Its our 20th year this year so we plan to celebrate and have fun. The years programme of activities is being finalised, which will include a couple of challenges, some fun workshops and a shorter project so we can fit in all the extras including a 20th Birthday party mid year.
The january AGM was held this week and as our serving officers had completed their 3 years it was time to elect a new Chair, secretary and treasurer. When all is confirmed i will put all the details onto our website www.southernbelles1@homestead.com

Happy New Year everyone. It looks like we have another year packed with fun things to do and make.

The website is currently being updated with this years programme and there are a number of events that members hope to be getting involved with including the UFDC convention in New Orleans, The GDS international in Lucerne and the IDMS event in Hollingbourne.

'Twas a fun workshop!

stuffing ,stuffing and more stuffing! our Christmas workshop was a venture in cloth doll making, a simple Christmas character.

 Vivienne brought in this wonderful fortune teller doll that Jeannine Scard made many years ago now as there had been a recent workshop making a similar doll. As usual, this one had that peculiar Jeannine touch which makes her very special. A lovely meeting was had by all, the next one in December is our Christmas party!
