Another Southern Belles gathering......

Another pleasant day at the Southern Belles Meeting. Everyone was busy creating the third 'face' for the 3 faced topsy turvy doll that we have been working on.

As usual a lot of chatter and the 'show and tell' table was full again.

Learning At Waltham Abbey......

During the convention we were privileged to learn from two very interesting speakers.....

Catherine Jennings from the Doll club of Great Britain gave us a very interesting talk on the dolls of America with some wonderful samples to show us

Felicity Warnes gave us a fascinating talk on the collection of colour plates of ladies fashions that she has collected over the years and of course we all had to have the wonderful book that she has produced. The colour prints that she has produced ar simply wonderful!

Workshop fun at Waltham Abbey.....

There was a wide range of workshops to choose from and all were attended by a Southern Belle or two!

 Michelle, lead her Dottie Dolly workshop, Eddie and Adrienne enjoyed the learning

Lesley lead a workshop making this lovely little baby bed, it lead to much discussion and innovation for the next time.....

The Southern Belles just got home from another fantastic time at the IDMS Convention at Waltham Abbey. As Usual we were well represented and we did well!

Enjoying lunch together and a great presentation from Catherine Jennings of the Doll club of Great Britain on American Dolls. Thanks Catherine will add  some more photos later...

September Meeting........

Another lovely chatty time was had by all at the September meeting of the Southern Belles.
Everyone spent a fun time sewing up the head for the roly poly doll, this and next months project..

At the 'Show and Tell' table

Shiela brought in the her little Lord Fauntleroy, for us to look at, a bit of research is needed for this lovely doll

Margaret brought in her little doll that is need of a bit of TLC and fixing...we can do that!

Linda showed us the souvenir doll. a fabulous well designed cloth doll, she brought back from her recent trip to Kansas City as president of  ODAC

Hilary has shamed us all by completing her little papier mache doll, the project lead by Carole

Jean brought in her winning dolls from this years convention in Bristol

Margaret and Sheila have also finished their decoupage boxes in the project lead by Adrienne
